“If it wasn’t for the Air Ambulance, I would not have survived.” These are the words of biker Neil Akers, 35, a father-of-one from Horsham, West Sussex, who miraculously survived after being hit by a van.
Twelve months on from a car accident that left 23 year old Barcombe man Matthew Perry close to death, the former Royal Marine has made a full recovery. He’s even about to embark on his mission to get back into the military. Matthew puts his survival down to the intervention of the HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) crew of the Sussex Air Ambulance.
19 year old Daniel Brown from Petersfield on the Hants and West Sussex border says he is ‘alive and well’ thanks to the intervention of the Sussex Air Ambulance and its medical crew. His survival is also down to the fact he was wearing protective motorcycling gear at the time he came off of his motorbike – just 6 days after he was given them for his birthday.
