Sally Gunnell Teams Up with Air Ambulance

International athlete Sally Gunnell
OBE (www.sallygunnell.com) stepped up to
support her local Air Ambulance service in
Sally, who retired from athletics in
1997 is still the only woman in history to hold all four major track titles
concurrently – Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth and a 400 metres
hurdles world record, lives in the
Sally said ‘I am very pleased to
have been able to support the Sussex Air Ambulance. They do a fantastic job, and
as a local resident, I am reassured to know that such a service exists in the
county.’
Sussex Air Ambulance responds to
serious and life threatening 999 calls, 365 days a year. The helicopter’s
specialist doctor and paramedic crew have attended hundreds of medical
emergencies since the service began in 2007. It costs £1.7 million a year to
fund the Air Ambulance and this is raised almost entirely by voluntary
donations.
