Dorothy’s donation is a lasting legacy

A Ringmer woman has left a lasting
legacy after a £1,000 donation was used to buy a vital piece of kit for the
Sussex Air Ambulance.
The money was used to buy a
Capnograph for the twin-engine MD902 helicopter in memory of Dorothy Hall who
died last November.
A Capnograph, or Capnometer, is used
to measure carbon dioxide (CO2) levels in an anaesthetised
patient.
Dororthy’s daughter Jan, also from
Ringmer, chose the life-saving charity as a beneficiary of her late mother’s
will following a talk about the vital work it does.
She said: “It made me aware of how
important the air ambulance is. I’m sure my mother would have been thrilled to
bits as she had big respect for health services.”
Jan and her daughter Sue, a district
nurse, visited the helicopter base at Dunsfold to meet the crew and was given a
guided tour of the aircraft by
East Sussex County Fundraiser
She said: “It is really
heart-warming when we receive donations in memory of loved
ones.
“It was lovely to hear that Mrs
Armstong chose us after attending one of our talks as our story is a powerful
one.

important it is for us to make the people of
