Operational Update - February 2010
It has been quite a busy year operationally at both bases. The Sussex Air Ambulance has flown a total or 77 missions and carried 8 patients this so far year.
Of these, 41% were road traffic collisions and 21% medical emergencies, however whatever the emergency, the skill of our medical teams have made significant difference to the patients that we have carried, some of whom would not have been alive today, had we not been there.
This is a true testament to the skills of out doctors and critical care paramedics and of course the skill of our pilots who are able to land the helicopter in some of the most difficult places.
